- HIDE EXPLANATION

Who is SEPA?

SEPA is a 501(c)3 non-profit which means that we are designated as a charitable organization by the IRS. We exist to serve our members and society at large through our mission of facilitating utility use and integration of solar electric power. For more information about our members, visit our Member List.

The organization is managed by an elected board of directors. The board is made up of 18 representatives, 13 of which are employees from electric utilities.

We get our funding from event revenue, membership dues, and a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy for Utility Technical Outreach.

How do we differ from other non-profit solar organizations?

SEPA works hand-in-hand with the many organizations dedicated to the solar industry. But unlike most other organizations which focus on policy, advocacy and legislation, our business to business focus and utility scale perspective provides customized, localized and practical advice, research and events. We offer broad and deep industry expertise across all stakeholder perspectives, and the resulting industry relationships allow you to turn solar theory into practice.

What does SEPA do?

SEPA's activities focus on research, education, and direct utility outreach. For details about our activities, visit our Member Center (lnik this).
