Utility Solar Interest Groups

The Solar Electric Power Association's newly formed Utility Solar Interest Groups (USIG) provide utility members with forums to:

• Exchange information and ideas

• Get updates on emerging issues

• Identify utility and solar industry concerns; examine potential solutions

• Assist or lead in development of best practices, standards, or processes

• Develop peer-to-peer relationships

• Access national and international research and information forums

• Provide feedback and strategic direction to SEPA research and education initiatives

Join one or more of the following groups to address solar issues of most importance to utilities:

• Business Models - innovative program and projects that provide utility value streams
• Grid Integration - distributed and centralized grid analysis, design, operation, and management
• Policy - federal, state legislation, and regulation
• Program Management - customer incentive, marketing, or educational needs
• Strategic Issues - long-term, proactive interests such as workforce development, grid parity, and climate change

Each USIG sets its own schedule and agenda on a consensus basis, and uses online tools so that participants can easily contact each other, share meeting summaries and other documents, and post announcements.

We encourage SEPA utility members to:

• Participate in one or more group directly

• Refer a utility colleague to a USIG related to their job area
